The 2012 NABIS conference planning committee has developed an integrated educational program that promises to be of interest to researchers, clinicians, administrators, and other brain injury
professionals. The conference will be a four-day, multi-track event that will cover a wide range of brain injury topics including medical best practices, rehabilitation, research, life-long living, pediatrics, advocacy and public policy. This year NABIS is pleased to present focused sessions on the use of technology in neuro-rehabilitation, mild TBI, as well as special panels on blast injury, neurotoxicity, the latest in neuropsychological testing, educating students with brain injury and much more! PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP: PERSPECTIVES IN PEDIATRIC BRAIN INJURY: New this year, NABIS is pleased to partner with the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine to offer a special pre-conference educational day entitled, Perspectives in Pediatric Brain Injury. This comprehensive full-day session is presented jointly by NABIS and the KiDZ Neuroscience Center, Department of Neurosurgery & The Miami

PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP II: NEUROTOXIC EXPOSURE: The Conference will also feature a second pre-conference day that will address Neurotoxic Exposure with presentations from leading medical, neuropsychological, life care planning and legal experts. This workshop will discuss the types, assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, litigation and life care planning of neurotoxic exposure cases, which will be highlighted by current research and in-depth case reviews. BLAST INJURY INSTITUTE SESSIONS
Incorporated into the main conference program will be focused sessions addressing the critical and growing issue of blast injury and TBI. The highlight of these sessions will be a half-day discussion panel for professionals working with blast induced brain injured military and non-military personnel.
